About Us

Slidematic Precision Components is a cold header that will manufacture precision components to your specifications.  Our size ranges are generally (but not limited to) .030 up to 1.625" diameters with lengths up to 14" with both single and multi die equipment.  We are a "Value Added Manufacturer" meaning we offer much more than just the fastener itself.  We offer warehousing programs, bin stocking, fastener distribution, secondaries such as drilling and tapping, outside services such as patching, consignment programs, automated status reporting and much more.

• Our shop contains a variety of different thread rolling machines. This allows us to accommodate almost any type of part.
• We "add value" by offering these additional operations: cross drilling, end drilling, tapping, shaving, grinding, machining, assembling, polybagging and more.
• Our large organized warehouse stores your parts until you need them. All parts are tracked by lot number allowing us to know exactly where all parts are at all times. All parts are removed FIFO (First In First Out).

• Size Capabilities
• We can now produce fasteners up to 14 inches long (13' underhead), and up to 1 7/8 inches in diameter. There are only two commercially available machines in the nation that are capable of meeting these size requirements.
• Engineering Capabilities
• We are extremely proud of our engineering capabilities, which include redesigning current parts for cost savings or increased productivity, trouble shooting difficult parts, building special machinery for unique assembly procedures, or just handling the part that needs special attention. Our commitment to quality is hard to find in the marketplace today.
• Vendor Consolidation
• One of the basic concerns of many customers today is the attempt to decrease the number of vendors with which they do business. Due to the many types of products and services offered, Slidematic will be able to help you trim that list of vendors. In addition to our specialty manufacturing, we stock standard fasteners, hex head cap screws, nuts, washers, lock washers, socket products, sheet metal screws, machine screws and more. All of these are available for immediate shipment.
• Inventory (fastener management) programs
• Consignment stocking program - In this program the parts are inventoried at your own location. Parts will be invoiced as you use them. This program cuts down the cost of partial truckloads and rush shipments, reduces inventories to daily levels and is easy to institute and monitor.
• Blanket order stocking program - This program is best suited for those customers that have an excellent knowledge of the parts that are used consistently on an annual basis. We will manufacture part or all of your
  annual usage and hold the parts in our inventory until you have requirements for them. This ensures that you will have parts when you need them, especially when requirements come up with little or no notice.
• Offsite stocking program - This program is for customers that have a large volume of parts but do not have the space for consignment inventory. We will inventory the parts at a Slidematic operated warehouse near your location.
• Minimum inventory levels - Another way to ensure inventory is to review all parts and supply us with a minimum inventory level for each one. We will track your inventory usage and watch for any parts that have fallen below the minimum.
• Bin Stocking - Slidematic also has several types of bin stocking programs. We will not only stock parts for you we will also fill bins right on your assembly lines. This ensures that you will not run out of parts.
• KAN BAN- This program is for customers that pick up with their own trucks. We will fill special re-usable containers with parts. Then just drop off empty bins for us to re-fill when you arrive for a shipment.
• Sorting
• If you have automated equipment, mixed parts can shut down your lines and cost you money. We can laser, hand or vision sort parts to ensure up to 100% good-quality, consistent product.
• Process Control Monitors
• Slidematic has designed and built our own computerized process control monitors (PCM). These monitors aid the operators in the production processes. The PCM units monitor die block sensors in our cold heading equipment. Each forming blow is analyzed for a change in the process. When good parts are being made the process is very predictable and repeatable. Therefore the PCM units can "Learn" what a good parts forming blows should look like and then set limits for the rest of the job. If the part is not within these limits the machine can be safely shut down and the operator alerted.
• Trends
• If one part goes out of the limits the machine will be shut down, but what happens when the process change is so small that the limits are not exceeded? The PCM takes this into account also. A secondary tightened set of limits is also used. If a small number of consecutive parts are all outside of the new tightened limits then the machine will also shut down.

• Lot Control
• We believe that Slidematic has one of the best lot control systems in the industry. All applicable production is traceable at several levels.
• Material - Material is traceable to the steel mill heat number. If the steel processor breaks this heat down into smaller batches for processing, then we will use their process number instead.
• Plating/Heat Treating - All material that is plated or heat treated is broken down into it's own lot.
• Warehousing/Shipping - All product is warehoused by lot number. We know were each lot is at all times. Your packing list will contain the lot number of your shipment.
